Chokuto Sword

Software used: Modo
Time spent: 7+ hours

This sword was modeled around and inspired by Sasuke's Chokutō sword from Naruto Shippuden, because it looks awesome. It's not an exact replica because his sword is actually different in different situations (real models, anime, manga, etc), and also because I like making things my way.

I designed this sword to demonstrate my skills in making realistic renders while also hinting at a story. Multiple warm lights were used to create a mood lighting while showing the details of the black iron. Using mesh painting, I created the fabric that the sword rests on, which adds more to the hinted story. I like to imagine a warrior gazing upon his sword, deep in thought.

As usual, absolutely everything was done in Modo. Fun fact, this is the first time I used more than one light source :D Hello improvements in cool renders.

Also, red cloth... blood is red... symbolism
